Three-year-old girl shot and killed four-year-old sister with unsecured firearm, sheriff says
Authorities in Texas confirmed a three-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her four-year-old sister on Sunday (12 March).
Sheriff of Harris country, Ed Gonzalez, told reporters that no one was supervising the toddlers when one gained access to a loaded semi-automatic pistol.
“Family members heard a single gunshot, they ran into the room and found the small toddler - four years old - unresponsive,” Mr Gonzalez said.
“It just seems like another tragic story of a child gaining access to a firearm and hurting someone else and this time it was a fatal shot.”
