Watch live as Sydney celebrates the New Year with fireworks display

Australia welcomes in the New Year with a traditional fireworks display over Sydney Harbour.

This year’s show is expected to run for around seven minutes, with lucky spectators watching the famous show from various vantage points around the city.

In an attempt to limit the spread of Covid-19, access to much of the harbour will be restricted to those with permits for bookings at restaurants and hotels.

Millions more are expected to watch the famous fireworks display virtually.
