Disabled parrot uses stone to clean its feathers after losing beak
A parrot named Bruce has developed an ingenious method to keep himself clean after losing the upper part of his beak in some sort of accident when he was younger.
Bruce is a kea parrot – which are only found in New Zealand – and is clearly a smart bird as he has developed this hygiene routine all by himself.
Researchers aren’t sure exactly how the parrot lost his upper mandible but they suspect it was in some sort of pest trap.
