Aerial footage shows sand dunes on fire in Wales following UK heatwave
Aerial footage shows a shocking sand dune fire had taken hold and was throwing up a smoke after a recent heatwave in the UK.
The footage was captured on sand dunes near Borth, in Wales, and threatened the nearby Ynyslas Golf Course.
Fire crews were called and arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze on the dunes at around 3pm on Tuesday (10 August).
It is rare to see such fires in the UK, but the recent rise in temperatures as well as increasingly unpredictable weather patterns could make such events more likely.
