Distant planet shows how our solar system could end
The plight of a distant planet some 6,000 light-years from Earth may hint at how our own solar system could end.
In a recent study in Nature magazine, astronomers claim to have found a darkened planet hovering around the remains of a burned-out star.
The scientists say the picture painted here may be the same as in our solar system when our own Sun passes through its red giant phase and potentially becomes a white dwarf.
