Protester who kicked police officer to floor in 2020 handed suspended sentence

A man who kicked a police officer to the ground during a demonstration near Whitehall in July 2020 has been handed a suspended sentence, the Inner London Crown Court heard on Monday (2 August).

The police officer had been trying to protect a film crew from violent protesters when the incident took place.

A group of around 250 protesters rounded on the TV crew – and the police moved in to protect them which eventually led to the kick as seen above.
