Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived at Chequers to meet Rishi Sunak.

The two leaders are expected to have “substantive negotiations” as the president of Ukraine looks to secure more support for his country’s war effort.

He announced his surprise UK trip with a tweet early on Monday morning (15 May).

“The UK is a leader when it comes to expanding our capabilities on the ground and in the air,” Mr Zelensky wrote.

“This cooperation will continue today. I will meet my friend Rishi. We will conduct substantive negotiations face-to-face and in delegations.”
