The internet’s biggest food myths debunked by the TikTok nutritionist
From “cancer-curing” juice cleanses to all-meat keto regimes, unsubstantiated nutrition myths are widespread online. Dietitian Kate Hilton, founder of Diets Debunked, took to TikTok to push back.
“I’ve seen in my own clinical practice, multiple people who have gone down this path and, unfortunately, it has been too late for them once they have decided to go down the traditional chemotherapy or radiotherapy path”, she told The Independent.
To counter this spread of misinformation, TikTok launched the UK Clinician Creator Network, bringing together NHS-qualified clinicians sharing their medical expertise on TikTok.
