Super Bowl 2026 halftime show live: What time are Bad Bunny and Green Day on, where to watch and who’s singing the national anthem

Puerto Rican superstar could break viewing records when he performs at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, as the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks

Bad Bunny's Super Bowl teaser

Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show tonight at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, an event that is set to draw millions of viewers from around the world.

The Puerto Rican megastar, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, will become the first male solo Latin artist to perform the halftime show, as well as the first to perform their set entirely in Spanish.

However, he reassured any non Spanish-speaking viewers that his show will be “fun and easy”, and that people “only have to worry about dance”.

He previously appeared on the Super Bowl stage as a special guest for Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s headline show in 2020. His performance also takes place a week after his latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the first Spanish-language record to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Accepting the prize, Bad Bunny denounced president Donald Trump’s administration for its expansion of immigration arrests, and said: “ICE out.” Trump has claimed he won’t watch the Super Bowl, as he disapproves of Bad Bunny and Green Day, the rock band who are also performing tonight.

Kid Rock says Turning Point USA’s Super Bowl halftime show is for ‘underserved’ Americans

Kid Rock has defended his upcoming performance at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show” by saying he is focusing on his love for America rather than spreading hate.

The former rapper, 55, will headline the conservative group’s alternative halftime show Sunday to compete with the NFL’s official Super Bowl halftime pick of Latin superstar Bad Bunny, which has sparked backlash among MAGA supporters who said the singer was anti-Donald Trump.

“I think I speak for Turning Point and all the artists involved, that none of us are approaching this with any hate in our hearts at all,” Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, said Friday during his appearance on Fox & Friends.

My colleague Carsen Holaday has more:

Pop singer Charlie Puth to perform the national anthem

National anthem performances at the Super Bowl have a patchy history, but Charlie Puth is a categorically great singer and especially nerdy when it comes to key and pitch. So he’s pushed back against some grumbling about his upcoming gig, writing on X in December: “I’ll never claim to be as good of a singer as Whitney Houston ever was. But I assure you we’re putting a really special arrangement together - in D major. It’ll be one of my best performances.”

I’m inclined to believe him, even if I am very un-fussed about the anthem itself.

Our review of Kendrick Lamar's 2025 halftime show

Last year, Kendrick Lamar blew people away with a fiery halftime show that shattered viewing records for the event to become the most-watched performance in NFL history. We’re sure Drake was fine with that.

Anyway, here’s Mark Beaumont’s glowing five-star review - he’s back tonight to review Bad Bunny’s set.

Kendrick Lamar’s Drake-baiting at the Super Bowl was a smokescreen - review

Hip-hop king’s performance will undoubtedly go down as one of the most important halftime shows in the history of the event, if not the most significant mass-televised rap performance of all time

My colleague Jack Rathborn has everything you need to know about the game itself (my concern, of course, is the halftime show).

What we know about MAGA’s alternative Super Bowl halftime show

You can safely predict that the MAGA version of the Super Bowl halftime show will pale in comparison to what will undoubtedly be a colourful, joyous, celebratory performance from Bad Bunny tonight.

Here’s what we know about the so-called “All-American Halftime Show”, organised by right-wing political organisation Turning Point.

What Green Day has said about Trump and MAGA as they’re set to perform at Super Bowl

Green Day have never shied away from making political statements — and the outspoken rock band’s upcoming performance at this year’s Super Bowl is likely to be no exception.

This week, the NFL tapped the longtime Trump critics to perform a special 60th anniversary Super Bowl tribute during the game’s opening ceremony. The rock trio, comprised of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, is expected to perform a handful of their best-known hits, while previous Super Bowl MVPs are welcomed onto the field.

Green Day’s addition to the 2026 Super Bowl performance lineup comes months after the NFL faced backlash from Trump and his MAGA base for inviting Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny to headline the big game’s halftime show. Accusing the “DtMF” superstar of being a “massive Trump hater,” and an “anti-ICE activist,” MAGA supporters later announced they would be hosting a rival event, called The All-American Halftime Show.

Here’s what Green Day have said about Trump and MAGA:

Super Bowl ads aren’t cheap. Here’s what they cost in 2026

The Super Bowl might be one of the most-watched sporting events of the year — but some just tune in for the commercials.

Big-budget advertisements shown during breaks in the game are often one of the biggest draws of the evening, and this year appears to be no exception.

Several ad spots have already dropped, including Oscar-winner Adrien Brody starring in an ad for TurboTax, Sabrina Carpenter appearing in an ad for Pringles, and Andy Samberg and Elle Fanning leading a Hellman’s commercial.

My colleagues Brittany Miller and Kaleigh Werner report:

How much does a Super Bowl ad cost in 2026?

NBC revealed it sold out of its ad inventory for the big game in September
