For the third goal, Sarr found Johnson with a delightful through ball, as Johnson tapped home and scored his first of the season. Burnley had their chances through the game, most notably Anthony went close just moments before Richarlison doubled the lead. Burnley may have deserved a goal, who had an xG of 1.1; Spurs’ xG was 2.33, with the majority of that coming in the second half. The teams shared 30 shots in a thrilling opening day encounter. Tottenham will look ahead to a game at the Etihad against Man City; Burnley face a huge game next time out, as they host fellow promoted side Sunderland.
