Tottenham Hotspur vs Burnley
It all ends here at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as Spurs take away all three points in a 3-0 win against Burnley. For Spurs, they will be delighted with the result and the clean sheet, something they struggled with last campaign. Richarlison gave the hosts an early lead, when he got on the end of a Kudus cross in the 10th minute of the game. It was then the same combination for the second goal, as Kudus manages to get past his man and get the ball into the area. This one was just behind Richarlison; however it made no difference to the outcome as the Brazilian hit a powerful scissor kick past Dubravka at the hour mark. For the third goal, Sarr found Johnson with a delightful through ball, as Johnson tapped home and scored his first of the season. Burnley had their chances through the game, most notably Anthony went close just moments before Richarlison doubled the lead. Burnley may have deserved a goal, who had an xG of 1.1; Spurs’ xG was 2.33, with the majority of that coming in the second half. The teams shared 30 shots in a thrilling opening day encounter. Tottenham will look ahead to a game at the Etihad against Man City; Burnley face a huge game next time out, as they host fellow promoted side Sunderland. Thanks everyone for tuning in and have a good day!

Former spurs academy graduate Edwards comes on for Anthony, who should have made it 1-1 in what feels like not too long ago.

Spence has a chance to make it four! Sarr and Spence link up well on the left-hand side, before Spence cuts back onto his right foot and shoots from and awkward angle – forcing a save from Dubravka. Spence should have perhaps looked for Solanke in the area, however at 3-0 up then I think you can understand the effort.

Tottenham have had nine shots in the second half, compared to Burnley’s four. After a difficult first half, Frank must have had some strong words for his players, who came out with a different fire inside of them for the second half.
