Sheffield United vs Brighton & Hove Albion LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction
Sheffield United 0-5 Brighton: Chris Wilder’s side were beaten by five goals for the second home match in a row after Mason Holgate’s early red card
A late Simon Adingra double capped a 5-0 win for Brighton at bottom side Sheffield United, who played most of their Premier League match with 10 men after Mason Holgate was sent off.
Facundo Buonanotte and Danny Welbeck scored early in the first half after Holgate, who joined United this month on loan from Everton, got his marching orders in the 13th minute following a knee-high challenge on Kaoru Mitoma.
Mitoma’s cross was put through his own goal by Jack Robinson in the 75th before Adingra scored twice within seven minutes to seal Brighton’s first Premier League away win since November.

Sheffield United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton secure the three points at Bramall Lane with an emphatic 5-0 victory over struggling Sheffield United. The Blades had a mountain to climb from the early stages of the game after Holgate was sent off for a reckless challenge on Mitoma. Shortly after, Brighton struck twice through Buonanotte and Welbeck and the Seagulls went into the break with a 2-0 lead against 10 men. De Zerbi's side came out in the second half with plenty of attacking intent despite their comfortable position in the game, and an own goal from Robinson made it three for Brighton. The Blades were a lot more compact in the second half, but the Seagulls continued to be relentless in front of goal, and a double from Adingra later in the game secured the victory at Bramall Lane. Up next for Sheffield United is a difficult trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Brighton will host Everton at the Amex Stadium next Saturday. That's all for today, goodbye!
