Aston Villa returned to winning ways in the Premier League as goals by Amadou Onana and Jhon Duran wrapped up a 2-1 victory at Leicester City.
Summer signing Onana touched in from close range after a clever free kick routine in the 28th minute.
Hosts Leicester, seeking their first win since promotion back to the top flight, were more of a threat in the second half but Duran’s 63rd-minute header appeared to have killed them off.
They were handed a lifeline when Facundo Buonanotte slotted in a shot 10 minutes later, but they could not salvage a point as Villa held on with relative comfort.
Villa, who were beaten by Arsenal last weekend, have six points from three games with Leicester on one.

Villa had to dig in, but they come away from the King Power Stadium with three points as they defeated Leicester City 2-1 for their second win of the Premier League season. Onana's second goal of the season following a cheeky free-kick routine gave Emery's side the breakthrough in the 28th minute. But the Foxes stepped up their game and ended the first half strongly before dominating the early stages of the second period. However, Duran came off the bench to head in a cross from Digne and double Villa's lead in the 63rd minute. Cooper's side halved the deficit through Buonanotte 10 minutes later to set up a tense ending to the game. However, the Villa defence held on for the win as Leicester remain winless three games into the season. But it wasn't for the lack of trying for the Foxes as they recorded nine attempts in the game with three of them on target, compared to Villa's 10 attempts of which half were on target. Leicester, though, only produced an xG of 0.39 compared to Villa's xG of 1.48 as the visitors took home the three points. Leicester will travel to face Crystal Palace on September 14 while Villa host Everton on the same day when the Premier League returns after the international break.
