A late Jimenez goal gave Fulham a deserved 1-0 win over Sunderland at Craven Cottage. The home side dominated the first half and had the chances to go in front, with Wilson striking an effort just wide of the post, while Kevin had a shot inside the area saved by Roefs. The away side improved after the break and did go close right at the start of the second half, but Le Fee's curling strike failed to hit the target. Silva's men improved as the game reached its latter stages, with Wilson squandered a golden opportunity after being fed by Sessegnon. It looked like being one of those frustrating afternoons for the hosts, but they found the breakthrough inside the last 10 minutes as the impactful Chukweze's cross was met by Jimenez, who showed all of his experience and poaching instincts to score the crucial goal. They ended the match with an xG of 2.08 to Sunderland's 0.17. Fulham now move up to 14th in the table, leapfrogging Newcastle, while Sunderland move down to sixth.
