Referee Stuart Attwell blows his whistle and for the first time we have Premier League football at Dickinson Hill Stadium!
Everton vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Referee Attwell blows his whistle for one final time then and Everton begin life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with all three points courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Brighton! Grealish ends his first Everton start with two assists, the first of which was a wonderful bit of play down the left flank to tee up Ndiaye to become the first man to score at the Toffees' new stadium. The Manchester City-loanee then teed up Garner to thump home the second, which proved enough of a cushion. However, Brighton boss Hurzeler - whose side had a superior xG of 2.46 to 1.84 - will be pulling his hair out in frustration that his side failed to score in this game. They hit the woodwork twice in the first half through Mitoma and Van Hecke, while Welbeck missed a great chance and O'Riley failed to punish an awful error from Tarkowski. The Seagulls' boss will have known for sure it wasn't his side's day when Welbeck's tame penalty, after Dewsbury-Hall pinged for handball, was saved by Pickford. Ultimately, though, it's a day of celebration for Everton and David Moyes, as the Toffees start their journey at their new home with all three points. Thanks for joining us folks, until next time!
