Chelsea vs West Ham live: Enzo Fernandez strikes in stoppage time to complete comeback as Todibo sent off

Chelsea 3-2 West Ham: Rosenior’s side fought from two goals down to win at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea inflicted heartbreak on an impressive West Ham by scoring three goals in the second half of the contest at Stamford Bridge to complete a 3-2 comeback victory and give Liam Rosenior a sixth win from seven matches in charge.

Rosenior had made seven changes to his starting XI from Chelsea’s previous outing and it didn’t work. The Blues were disjointed, poor and unable to assert any authority on the game. West Ham, through the combination of Jarrod Bowen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka caused real problems on the right wing and it was from here that the goals came.

Bowen scored the first from an attempted cross before Crysencio Summerville added a second after a cutback into the box.

Rosenior made a triple change at the break and the momentum swung in favour of Chelsea. Joao Pedro headed in Wesley Fofana’s cross before a diving header from Marc Cucurella brought the equaliser.

There was drama in stoppage time as Enzo Fernandez rattled in the winning goal before Jean-Clair Todibo was sent off for violent conduct in the last act of the game.

The Liam Rosenior touch that’s building a different legacy at Chelsea

For Chelsea, that’s how you build a connection, and a team. As for West Ham United, that’s how you get into another tailspin, but it’s still hard to say how they threw that away.

It was probably the substitutions of both managers.

Whatever you put it down to, Chelsea went from getting booed off at half-time when 2-0 down to scoring a vintage stoppage-time winner for a 3-2 victory. The melee at the end, that resulted in a Jean-Clair Todibo red card, only fed into the raucous feeling.

That result means that Chelsea jump back into the top four and sit two points clear of Manchester United in fifth.

The Blues also maintain their winning run ahead of a crunch clash with Arsenal on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

For West Ham, they remain in the relegation zone and are five points away from safety. Nottingham Forest have the chance to increase that to eight tomorrow.

Liam Rosenior made his substitutions and, much like against Napoli, they turned up for him in the second half.

It’s six wins from seven matches now for the Chelsea boss and this one is right up there with one of their best.
