Katie Hopkins is definitely in the House.

Described by many as "Britain's most hated woman", the Sun columnist, former Apprentice candidate and now Celebrity Big Brother housemate told presenter Emma Willis that she is "not a panto villain", despite previously describing herself as "a witch with a heart of stone".

"I don’t like fat people, I’m not a big fan of ginger people, I think that unemployed people are lazy," she announced in the video introducing her arrival to the show.

Her arrival at the Celebrity Big Brother house last night invited a storm of booing from the audience.

"Love an island, very middle class," she said as she looked around the kitchen, at the same time bemoaning the lack of a gym.

Asked by the "enchanted mirror" whether she had put on weight Hopkins replied: "No, I put on four stone and lost it again to prove that fat people are lazy. Are you fat?"

Also appearing in the Big Brother house are US showbiz blogger Perez Hilton, actress Patsy Kensit, actor and television presenter Keith ‘Cheggers’ Chegwin, nineties popstar Kavana, Cami Li, American actor Jeremy Jackson, model Alicia Douvall, Chloe Goodman, R&B singer Alexander O’Neal, former fashion model Calum Best, TV presenter and actress Nadia Sawalha, singer and TV host Michelle Visage, and comedian and actor Ken Morley.
