Letter: Too busy to remember well

UNFORTUNATELY we gave up commemorating Remembrance Day some years ago (''The war we have never forgotten'', 13 November). Rather than joining with former allies in marking the anniversary of the Armistice each year, we mark the event on the nearest Sunday. No doubt there are plenty of sensible reasons for not interrupting our weekday routine, but Remembrance Day would surely have even greater potency if it continued to take place on the exact anniversary of that hour when the guns finally fell silent.
