Letter: Gay parents

I was saddened to see the photograph on the front page (22 September) of two homosexual men who have adopted a baby girl. How can we allow a child to be placed in a home where she will never have a mother?

Homosexual relationships are not designed to give rise to children. A child deserves two parents of different sexes to provide balance and give them some chance of a normal upbringing.

I don't question the ability of homosexual couples to love children, only the rightness of placing children where the parents have rejected the opposite sex in their choice of partner.
