Letter: Tolerance and secularism versus fanaticism in India

Sir: The biggest mistake the Indian government can make is to rebuild the mosque in direct opposition to the majority opinion of the Indians, both Hindus and Muslims. This issue has been a thorn in the good relations between the two communities for centuries and should be resolved by a referendum on the matter so that an end could be brought to the bloodshed for ever.

By the way, I don't see any of the Muslim governments, who are so ready to condemn the Hindus, offering to rebuild the Hindu temples that have been destroyed by the Muslims in Pakistan, Bangladesh and England.

Yours sincerely,

H. PARMAR
