Sir: As a born-and-bred Hindu, now a naturalised British citizen, I maintain that both the Hindus and the Muslims from the subcontinent should not carry on their age-old vendetta in this country.

It is a great credit to Britain that we are allowed to continue our lifestyles here, which are extremely alien to most UK citizens. Continuance of one's cultural heritage is something to be encouraged, but continuance of religious bigotry has to be condemned.

Yours faithully,

A. M. GORDHANDAS
