Sir: I am surprised that Bryan Appleyard (6 July) believes that it is people 'aged between their late thirties and early fifties . . . who develop, market and advertise products and images'. In my experience of the advertising business, anybody over 30 is regarded as middle-aged and anybody over 50 as a geriatric.
