LETTER:Signing off

From Mr Philip Guilmant

Sir: It is most difficult to read the names of railway stations in Britain, when the train is in motion. May I suggest to the railway engineers and station designers that the names be placed at 45 degrees to the track, to facilitate the reading of the signs from the moving train.

Yours faithfully,

Philip Guilmant
