Letter: Elegance on the wind and power beneath the waves

Sir: I regret that you have been misinformed. St Breock Downs in Cornwall has not lain undisturbed for 4,000 years ('Power farms sail close to wind', 26 February). It is improved grasslands where Bronze Age burrows have been badly damaged by the plough.

The wind turbines are sited more than a quarter of a mile away. Cornwall County Council's archaeological unit concluded that the wind farm would not adversely affect the historic setting because the surrounding landscape is 'a 20th-century creation which has already been ploughed flat, grassed over and fenced in recent years'.
