Sir: In today's edition you report ('Ashdown shifts the Lib Dems towards Labour', 19 September) that the Liberal Democrats are about to decide we will not 'ever' support a minority Conservative government. You should remember, as we do, that 'never' is a short time in politics. None of us is short-sighted enough to look at it.
