Letter: Bill Clinton's inauguration

Sir: I was extremely disappointed to see the cartoon on Thursday depicting President Saddam being ear-bashed by Mrs Clinton. For a newspaper of your repute to imply that President Clinton is ruled by his wife, just because she is a strong person, is shameful.

I am someone who is married to a strong woman; we have a harmonious relationship and seek each other's counsel regularly, as any true relationship does.

I expect to find the Independent devoid of this pathetic slur in the future.
