CYRIL Dixon gives not 'the facts of fish fingers' (21 August) but more mythology. In 1929 Clarence Birdseye, wily fur trapper and pioneer of quick- frozen food, sold his company and name, becoming a millionaire in the process. It was the grey-suited marketing men of Unilever who brought the fish stick concept to Britain.
