Greg Dyke, former Director-General of the BBC, has been appointed as Chairman of the FA.

Dyke will carry experience in football management into his new role, having served as a director of Manchester United between 1997-99 and employed until today as Chairman of Brentford FC.

The 65-year-old resigned from the position of BBC Director-General in the wake of the Hutton Inquiry, a report into how David Kelly, an employee of the Ministry of Defence, was named as a source for claims that Tony Blair's government had "sexed up" the case for war in Iraq. Kelly committed suicide after being named.
