Mark Carney defended his controversial pay deal today
As we report elsewhere this morning, Mark Carney, the new Governor of the Bank of England, is facing the Treasury Select Committee. Variously feted as the best banker since time began, and better looking than George Clooney, the Canadian cannot possibly match the expectations of him.
Danny (David) Blanchflower, the former member of the Monetary Policy Committee who writes a brilliant column on Mondays for us, has a post up at the New Statesman about the challenges facing Carney that is well worth reading.
