HOW FAR from Britain are you able to use your cellular phone, I asked (Independent Traveller, 26 March). Mrs June Lewis says she uses her mobile phone in the grounds of her home three miles south of Isigny-sur- Mer in Calvados. 'The weather has to be good for a clear signal and I think that we must be high enough for the receiver in the Channel Islands.'
