Great getaways: Northern Lights in Lapland, hot seat in Turkey, Bordeaux wine time, head east to China

There's still time to try and glimpse the Northern Lights this winter. Specialist tour operator Aurora Zone has one trip based at a spa hotel near Luosto in Finnish Lapland, which departs on 2, 9, 16 and 23 March. Hot seat

On 26 April, Exclusive Escapes has a week at Deniz Feneri Lighthouse, a waterfront hotel on the Kas Peninsula of Turkey. Set above a private beach, it offers a waterside restaurant, pool and spa. Wine time

Kirker Holidays has a gourmet break to the commune of Bouliac, just outside Bordeaux, for £688pp. The three-night jaunt is based at the five-star Le Saint James hotel, an 18th-century farmhouse with its own vineyard and gourmet restaurant. Head east
