For anyone who spends their days walking among busy city streets, taking public transport to your next meeting or coffee stop, and hitting the gym for an exercise class on your way home, a pair of Open Wireless Stereo (OWS) headphones could be the latest must-have member of your everyday carry.
Comfort-focused features
The Huawei FreeClip 2 headphones represent a complete redesign over their predecessors – and aim to be more comfortable than your regular wireless earphones. They combine Huawei’s Ergonomic Acoustic Ball, Comfort Bean and Airy C-bridge design elements to provide a balanced fit that moves naturally with you as you go about your day. This is a pair of wireless headphones that aims to be elegant, stable and secure, while providing quality audio and all-day battery life.

An upgraded audio system
Inside the acoustic ball is a significantly upgraded audio system, featuring Huawei’s own dual-diaphragm driver and multi-mic call noise cancellation system. This helps to deliver more powerful sound than before, while maximising space efficiency.
Just like other wireless earphones, the Huawei FreeClip 2 comes with a handy charge case for battery top-ups on the go. Up to nine hours of continuous music playback is possible from the headphones alone, or up to 38 hours when using the charge case.
Fast-charge capabilities mean an extra three hours of playback can be added with just 10 minutes of charge. Plus, an IP54 dust- and water-resistance rating for the earphones and the case ensure they’ll stand up to sweat and rainfall.

Automatic volume adjustment
Switch from a high-energy workout to a cosy cafe, and the Huawei FreeClip 2 automatically adjusts volume to match your surroundings. So whether you’re going for a new personal best 5k time, battling the rush-hour commute or reading quietly at home, your earphones intelligently increase or decrease volume to improve your listening experience throughout the day.
To help further boost comfort, Huawei optimised the design of the FreeClip 2 by analysing over 10,000 ear samples worldwide. The comfort bean – which features touch controls for music playback – is lighter and smaller than that of previous models, ensuring it fits snugly in your ear without falling out, even during exercise.

Powerful sound in compact form
Meanwhile, the acoustic ball – which houses the speaker itself – has been enhanced to deliver powerful sound from its compact form. A new skin-friendly liquid silicone is employed alongside a high-performance, shape-memory alloy to create the flexible C-bridge, which connects the two elements of each earphone together.
Stylish functionality
To ensure the Huawei FreeClip 2 matches aesthetics with audio performance, several stylish colour schemes are available. These include blue, white and black at launch on 21 January, with a stylish rose gold version coming at a later date; while a fine textured surface on the blue and white models provides a premium look and feel. Weighing just 5.1 grams each, the earbuds have a universal design and automatically recognise which ear they’re in – so there’s no more working out which is which, just pick them up in the morning, put them on your ears, and you’re good to go all day.
