RICHARD DUNWOODY completed a near 7-1 double at Wolverhampton yesterday. Following his victory on Miss Marigold, the stewards enquired into the running of the 11-8 favourite Surf Boat, who at Nottingham had finished 12 lengths in front of yesterday's winner, but this time was pulled up by Graham McCourt.
McCourt, interviewed along with trainer Nigel Tinkler, said the filly was unable to handle the firm ground and was lame. After accepting his explanation, the stewards ordered Surf Boat to be dope tested.
