Sports Listings / Motorcycling: Sunday British Grand Prix: British Grand prix - Donington Park

Kevin Schwantz, the Texan looking for his first world championship, has an excellent track record at Donington. The leader of this year's championship won the British 500cc Grand Prix in 1989, 1990 and 1991. The run was broken last year when he skidded on an oil patch, but he starts as favourite for the race on Sunday and a win would provide a cushion over Wayne Rainey, the champion who is second overall. Practice and qualifying are held today and tomorrow from 9am. On Sunday, the untimed warm-up is from 9.30am, with the first of five races at noon.

How to get there: Donington Park, Castle Donington, Derby, is next to East Midlands airport, three miles from junctions 23A/24 of the M1/M42/A42.
