Sir: The BBC, in its official statement responding to Desmond Lynam's departure to join ITV said: "It is naturally disappointing, but Des will not be taking any sport with him." Of course he isn't. There's practically nothing left to take. How long before Grandstand is the showcase for afternoon wrestling?
