Sir: Preferably any manager of a European country that has qualified, bar Jack Charlton. In other words, not an Englishman brought up in our insular game. And if they are not available due to the World Cup, Franz Beckenbauer will do.
Should the geriatrics at the FA insist it must be an Englishman, please persuade Steve Coppell or Ray Wilkins. At least they appear to recognise that control of the ball could be an advantage.
