The Cardiff Devils have signed Daniel Jardemyr, a 6ft 3in Swedish- born defenceman, from the Danish club Esjberg as a replacement for Martin Lindman.

In the conference semi-final openers on Thursday, Boston, with two goals from Dmitri Khristich, beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 in the first of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series. In Dallas, Brett Hull scored his first goal of the post-season as the Stars started their Western Conference semi-final series with a 3-0 win over the St Louis Blues.
