South Korea, who are co-hosting the 2002 World Cup finals with Japan, may be forced to rely upon a Japanese loan of up to pounds 130m in order to to help build a stadium in Seoul. South Korea was hit hard by the 1997 economic crisis but still plans to build 10 new stadiums for the tournament.
