THE Bulgarian club Botev Plovdiv was yesterday suspended by Uefa for one season in European competition after an alleged attempt to bribe a member of its appeals jury before a hearing on the possibility of reducing a five-season suspension on the Botev player, Georgi Donkov, who was sent off for spitting in a linesman's face during a European Cup match in Athens against Olympiakos Piraeus on 29 September.
