Johnny Tapia, the unbeaten American, won the World Boxing Association bantamweight title in Atlantic City on Saturday, dethroning champion Nana Konadu of Ghana by a majority decision.

The American James Page succeeded in the first defence of his World Boxing Association welterweight title at Atlantic City on Saturday with a unanimous points decision over Mexico's Jose Luis Lopez.
