The South African Olympic champion Josia Thugwane will not take part in the marathon at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in September.

Cologne's annual Grand Prix meeting will not take place this year because of financial difficulties. The meeting which was the setting for two world records last year was scheduled for 31 July.
