AUCKLAND have offered a coaching job to John Monie to start in 1994, a year before they enter Australia's Winfield Cup. Monie, who is to leave Wigan after one more season, met with Auckland officials last weekend, when he re-signed the Kiwi utility back, Sam Panapa.
SWINTON, relegated to the Second Division at the end of the last campaign, have reported a loss of pounds 590,000 over two seasons. The club are selling their Station Road ground and moving in with Bury Football Club. Malcolm White, the Swinton chairman, said: 'The financial situation has deteriorated progressively over a number of years. The loss was due to the introduction of contract payments and promotion and relegation in successive seasons which mean the commercial income suffered.'
BARROW have promoted their A team coach, Geoff Worrall, to first-team coach after the sacking of Paul Kavanagh last week.
