GIANCARLO FALAPPA, of Italy, took pole position for the 13th and final round of the World Superbike championship in Manfield, New Zealand yesterday. Falappa, riding a Ducati, clocked 1min 06.74sec while his countryman, Fabrizio Pirovano, on a Yamaha, was second fastest with 1:06.82.
