HUBERT DOGGART, who played two Tests for England against the West Indies in 1950, has been made an honorary life vice-president of MCC. He was president of the club in 1981-82 and treasurer between 1987-92.

KEN CRANSTON, the former England all-rounder, was yesterday named president-elect of Lancashire County Cricket Club. Cranston, a former captain of the club who played in eight Test matches for England, will replace Alick Leggat in 1993.
