Barrie-Jon Mather's contractual dispute with Wigan has led the 23-year-old Great Britain forward to issue an injunction against the club. Mather insists that, as a free agent, he has no obligation to Wigan and has agreed a three-year deal with the Australian club Perth Western Reds, but Wigan are demanding compensation and have blocked the move.

The Rugby League's board of directors will decide this weekend whether to re-admit Blackpool to the Second Division, as well as considering an application from Northampton.
