DAVID BARONS, who has sent out the winners of over 900 races since taking out a licence in 1963, has decided to retire from training in order to concentrate on farming and importing New Zealand-bred racehorses. 'Because of the virus we've had over the last couple of seasons I haven't been getting the fun out of it that I used to,' he said yesterday.
