Five-time Olympic gold medallist Ian Thorpe claims he is mentally prepared to fail at next summer's London Games given the timeframe for his comeback.
The Australian swimmer, 29, said: "I'm more concerned about [being successful] because that's what I'm not prepared for. I'm comfortable knowing that, chances are, I'm going to fail. I've become comfortable with that. I'm more prepared to struggle and enjoy it because I've never experienced that in my career. For some reason, in my mind, this is helping me; it's making it harder, so I'm more focused."
