Rio 2016: Bullet shot into Olympic equestrian media centre as police confirm investigation
Pictures revealed that a bullet had been fired through the side of the media centre at the equestrian centre

A bullet was fired into the media centre at the Rio equestrian arena as the first day of the Olympic Games continue to be overshadowed by incidents away from competition.
Organisers have apologised for the travel chaos that led to hours of queuing for fans in Rio de Janeiro, while a controlled explosion rocked the beachfront after Brazil’s anti-bomb squad detonated a suspect package.
Not long after, Brazilian police confirmed that they were investigating reports that a bullet was shot into the media centre of the equestrian arena.

Photos from Rio showed a small hole in the top of the media centre tent, with another displaying the supposed bullet that was fired into the centre.
