Luol Deng is confident that Britain's basketball's legacy has been assured by the Games after Team GB beat China 80-50 yesterday.
NBA star Deng, who helped Britain record their first Games win for 64 years, said: “We showed everyone that we have potential. I think the game will be more popular here now and, to go out on a win, I’m extremely excited. We’re going to learn from our mistakes.”
After the game, coach Chris Finch announced that he will be stepping down after six years in the role. He said: “We achieved a lot of things. We’ve kept improving ourselves and that’s the most satisfying thing.”
