Nigel Benn threatens to restart rivalry with Eubank family after son Conor’s win
Nigel Benn branded his old rival Chris Eubank Sr an ‘idiot’ after Conor Benn dominated his rematch with Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday night
Nigel Benn wasted no time in reigniting his historic rivalry with Chris Eubank Sr, launching into a furious tirade against his old adversary shortly after his son, Conor Benn, secured a unanimous decision victory over Chris Eubank Jr.
The win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday marked a significant moment, delivering redemption in a feud spanning 35 years.
The original rivalry saw Eubank Sr claim the first bout in 1990, followed by a contentious draw three years later.
While Eubank Jr had extended the wait for a maiden triumph in the family feud with a win over Conor Benn in April, the 29-year-old from Ilford delivered a one-sided contest to avenge the family name.

Despite the celebratory atmosphere, the simmering tension between the boxing legends erupted in a two-minute-and-31-second rant from Nigel Benn.
The outburst followed an unexpected face-off on Thursday where the pair failed to shake hands.
Benn, unprompted, explained the catalyst: "At the press conference…I’ll say it now, we had a face-off. He is dancing because he loves the limelight. He doesn’t care about his son, he just loves the limelight."
He recounted attempting to shake Eubank Sr’s hand, only for it to be rebuffed. "And I actually felt like I wanted to…so when he tried to shake my hand tonight, I thought, ‘I ain’t playing your games, mate’. I don’t think I’ll even speak to him again, because I find him a right prat."
Benn continued, labelling Eubank Sr an "idiot" who "tries to quote scripture and all that, he don’t even know what he is talking about."
He extended his criticism to both Eubanks, condemning their perceived disrespect towards promoters.
"Back in the day, we never talked disrespectful about our promoters that are putting money in our banks and giving us a good life," Benn stated.

"We never did that with Frank Warren or Mickey Duff, we never slagged them off, but the way he (Eubank Jr) talks about Eddie Hearn, how disrespectful is he? Both of them."
Benn also dismissed Eubank Sr’s concerns about his son’s weight, saying: "Eubank (Sr) is always talking about, ‘We’re struggling at the weight, they’re going to kill my son’, mate, he’s been a middleweight for how many years?
“He has been IBO champion, but as soon as he fights a welterweight, oh we have problems. Always bloody moaning. Always."
Expressing his exasperation, Benn concluded: "I tell you what, I’m sick to death of them to tell the truth and I am glad it’s over now. I am glad it’s over now and we won’t have hear about them anymore."
