Prost-Honda have announced Italian driver Jarno Trulli is to replace Olivier Panis, who broke both legs in a crash during the Canadian Grand Prix. The 22-year-old Minardi driver will make his debut with the team in the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours on Sunday. Minardi said Trulli's place with them would be taken by Brazilian test driver Tarso Marques.
Britain's Mark Blundell won his first Indycar race on Sunday after a thrilling battle with Gil de Ferran in the Budweiser GI Joe's 200 in Portland, Oregon. Blundell's 18 Motorola PacWest Mercedes-Benz passed De Ferran's Reynard Honda on the final straight to win by 27-thousandths of a second, making it the closest race in Indycar history.
